 US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump also paid their respects.

 

 

On Sunday, this girl cried as a group of Central American migrants surrendered to US Border Patrol agents after jumping over the metal barrier separating Playas de Tijuana in Mexico from the United States, as seen from Playas de Tijuana. - Thousands of Central American migrants, mostly Hondurans, have trekked for over a month in the hopes of reaching the United States.

 

 

The girl had just been helped to climb the metal barrier separating Mexico and the United States.

That very day, nearly 150 Central American migrants seeking political asylum in the United States were detained by the Border Patrol, after entering the US through the Rio Grande, along the border with Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua state, Mexico.

 

 

In a different part of the world, this young girl stood in front of fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as they attended the funeral a fellow fighter killed in the town of Hajin during battles against the Islamic State (IS) group, in the Kurdish-controlled city of Qamishly in northeastern Syria.

Across to another part of the globe, these Indian labourers constructed a temporary road on the banks of the Sangam for the upcoming Kumbh Mela festival, in Allahabad. The Kumbh Mela in the town of Allahabad will see millions of Hindu devotees gather from January 15 to March 4, 2019 to take a ritual bath in the holy waters, believed to cleanse sins and bestow blessings. 

 

 

On Tuesday, members of Iraq's Rapid Response military unit took part in a "counter-terrorism" training at a military base inside Baghdad International Airport. The exercises are being held over a period of four months in co-operation with the Italian forces in Iraq.
