As hundreds of people flocked to Mutima Beach, to witness Police's efforts to retrieve the ill-fated boat out of the lake, some unscrupulous people are charging money for entry.

Mutima beach is located in Mpatta sub-county in Mukono district. Three tractors, including a wheel loader, have been mobilised by the Police in preparation to have the boat get out of the lake.

The residents have reported being charged money, but the Police publicist Zula Ganyana says the Police is not aware and not part of that.

The Police suspect there could be bodies stuck down inside the boat or on the bottom of the lake and the boat would be sitting in them.

While addressing some of the locals, Ganyana asked residents to calm down and listen to the Police instructions and directives to avoid any injuries during the process.

Ganyana said they are working tooth and nail to make sure the wreckage gets out of the water.

She said it's long stay in the water may cause other water accidents as other boats crossing may collide with it.
