Independence: Business as usual in Kampala

Business in down town Kampala and its neighbouring trade centres remained normal as the country marked its 56th year of Independence. By as early as 7:30am, many shops were open and business was brisk around the Namirembe Road, Kisenyi, New Taxi and Old Park. In the city suburbs of Mengo, Rubaga, Nateete, Katwe, and Arua Park, business went on as usual. The main celebrations were held in Kyotera district
