Herbert Luboyera scored twice as Mutoola Beach soccer club defeated Talented 4-3 in the national beach soccer league over the weekend at Lido beach,Entebbe.
Koire Nsenge and Thomas Kimuli scored the other goals for Mutoola while Christopher Isiko and Derrick Kawesi scored for Talented.
The beach soccer league is composed of 16 and 10 clubs in both the men and women categories respectively. In the men category, the top four teams in each of the group (Hurriken Group and Monsoon) qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season. Three clubs are demoted at end of the season and three promoted.
The league that resumed last weekend, will this season be played on three different venues such as Mutoola Resort Beach, Lido Beach and Spennah Beach.
Elsewhere, Nkumba University defeated YMCA Comprehensive 3-0 while St Lawrence beat Buganda Royal 5-3.
Allan Kayiwa guided Isabeti beach soccer club to the league title last season. Kayiwa notched hattrick as Isabeti beat KIU 8-3 in the final to walk away with the trophy.
In the Women category, Muteesa 1 Royal University were declared the champions after topping the league table.
