Mwetemba wins Castle Lite Entebbe July Mug tournament

Lady golfer Rita Akot Apell brightened her chances of claiming the overall Castle Lite Entebbe Monthly Mug competitions when she added the July Mug to her collection.

Playing off handicap 23Akot beat her nearest rival Irene Nakalembe by five strokes on the day to strengthen her position on the monthly standings.

But Herbert Mwetemba emerged overall winner to join the long list of monthly winners in the men's category that is almost producing a new winner every month.

Michael Tumusiime (71nett) and Ronnie Kasirye (76nett) were the best in the men's Group A while Daniel Opwonya and Paul Ojambo came top in Group B.

Group C of the handicap 19-28 was won by Joel Baluku (71nett) who beat Joseph Mubiru by a stroke.

The men's overall winners' race has the likes of current leader John Muchiri alongside Ronnie Kasirye, Daniel Opwonya, Jacob Byamukama, Perry Musiime, Charles Kabunga Andrew Baguma, Moses Ssebugwawo and Robbins Mwehaire who are among the top ten contenders.
