Arua holds NRM primaries

Eight candidates will face off in the Arua municipality parliamentary primaries.

ELECTIONS

ARUA - The National Resistance Movement (NRM), is holding the party primaries on Wednesday ahead of the Arua Municipality by-elections.

Initially, the primaries had been planned for July 17 but were later postponed reportedly due to lack of preparation on the part of the NRM party election officials.

Eight candidates will face off in the Arua municipality parliamentary primaries.

The Chairperson of the NRM electoral commission, Dr Tanga Odoi, says the primaries will be held this Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Police has appealed to NRM voters in Arua Municipality to remain calm during their electoral process.

Josephine Angucia, the Police spokesperson North Western region, says the Police do not expect any hindrances to the voting process.
