TRIBUTE FOR UB40

For their themed show, Tribute Night, last Saturday night Code9 band paid tribute to UB40. The band played some hit songs of the celebrated English reggae and pop band.

UB40 have been on the global music circuit for over 30 years, with various hits including Reasons, Red Wine and Cheery oh Baby.

Perhaps, that is why the show easily came off as thrilling. With a lineup of 17 songs which Code9 delivered on live band, revellers were treated to some of their favourite hits of the 80s, 90s believed to be the prime years of UB40.

Fans grooved and crooned along word for word. With many ballads on the tune, it would become a memorable night-out for the couples in the house. Lovers in the audience were seen singing for each other.

But one of the highlights of the show was a Karaoke session, which is done for the engagement of the audience. Some folks in the audience hit the stage to croon their souls out. They walked away with goodies.

Code9 has done tribute nights for various great musicians and bands, including sweddish pop group ABBA, Southern African reggae star Lucky Dube, American superstars Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. The night falls on every last Saturday of the month.
