Polish minister for refugees to visit Uganda

Minister Kempa is based in the office of the Prime Minister. She is in charge of the humanitarian assistance in Poland.

KAMPALA - Polish Minister for Refugees, Beata Kempa is expected to jet into the country for refugees support in North Uganda on Sunday.

According to Agnieszka Torres de Oliveira, the first Secretary of Polish Embassy in Nairobi, Kempa will first meet with the Principal secretary from the Prime Minister's Office, Christine Gawatudde.
 
Later, she will also visit the Bidi-Bidi refugee camp in Northern Uganda.
 
Bidi-Bidi camp accomodates over 270,000 South Sudanese refugees fleeing the ongoing civil war, in early 2017.
 
Bidi-Bidi covers 250 square kilometers of the eastern half of the district of Yumbe, stretching southward from the South Sudanese border and spilling over into Moyo district along the western bank of the Kochi river.
 
About Kempa
 
Kempa is a Polish politician. She was born on February 11, 1966 in Syców.
 
She graduated from the University of Wrocław, in the Law and Administration Faculty.
 
She was elected to the Polish Parliament (Sejm) on September 25, 2005, on the Law and Justice list and since then, she has been a Member of the Parliament.
 
She served as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice between 2006-2007.
 
Kempa was appointed the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in 2015, and by the end of 2017, she became the Minister in the Office of the current Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki.
