Vipers to lose five players

Reports indicate that different clubs have approached the players to see if they can take them on.

FOOTBALL 

KAMPALA - League Champions Vipers Sports Club may lose some of their players at the end of the season. 

The champions have over five players whose contracts run out by the end of the season. 

Erisa Sekisambu, Ismail Watenga, James Alitho, Deus Bukenya, Brian Nkuubi, Shafik Bakaki, Duncan Seninde, Halid Lwaliwa, and Musa Malunda make the five man squad who will be leaving the team at close of the season.  

Reports indicate that different clubs have approached the players to see if they can take them on. 

Midfielder Duncan Seninde is reported to have been in talks with KCCA while Sekisambu is expected to play for a club in either Zambia or South Africa. 

As a matter of fact, Ssekisambu confirmed his exist from Vipers on local television sports show dubbed NTV Press Box. 

"I don't think I will be Vipers next season. 

"I think i have given Ugandan football enough of my effort and it is time for me to go and face new challenges,"he said. 

Vipers, who won the league title last Friday after thumping UPDF 4-1 at St Mary's stadium,Kitende  are also on the  verge of walking away with a double this season. 

They are  still part of the Stanbic Uganda Cup where they settled for goalless draw with SC Villa in the first leg of the semifinal at  Wankulukuku  stadium.  

The Venoms will host a return leg on June 5 at their home grounds, St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende.
