NAIROBI - Coach Paul Nkata has joined Kenya Premier League side; the Kakamega Home Boys, on a one-year deal.

This follows the sacking of  Kakamega Home Boys'  head coach, Mike Mururi and his assistant Peter Okidi.

Club chairman, Cleophas Shimanyula confirmed Nkata's arrival

"We have named Nkata to handle our side. He has signed a one-year contract that can be extended if he performs well.

"We need to finish at a respectable position and I am confident Nkata can do the trick," Shimanyula told the Kenyan news website Goal.

Nkata will be assisted by fellow Ugandan Hamza Kalanzi with whom they worked with at URA FC .

The duo resigned at URA FC a month ago after they thumped by KCCA 7-2 in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Nkata has previously been in charge of Muhoroni Youth, Nairobi City Stars, Tusker and Bandari.

He also won the league title with Tusker in 2016 but later quit to join Bandari.
