Prosecution alleges that the accused and others still at large, on February 7, kidnapped Magara

Nine people including a woman have been charged with the murder of Susan Magara.

They include Patrick Kasaija, 36, Yusuf Lubega, 32, Hussein Wasswa, 22, Muzamiru Ssali, 27, Hajara Nakandi, 35, Abubaker Kyewolwa, 30, Mahad Kasalita, Hassan Kato Miiro and Ismail Bukenya.

They appeared before Buganda Road Court grade one magistrate, Charles Yeteise, who read out the charges to them.

However, Weteise did not allow them to plead to the charges because they are capital in nature, only tried by the High Court. They were remanded until June 1.

Prosecution alleges that the accused and others still at large, on February 7, kidnapped Magara with intent to procure a ransom or benefit from her liberation from danger of being murdered.

It further alleges that the accused and others still at large, on February 27, at Kigo in Wakiso district, murdered Magara.
