In a twist of events at Bunyoro-Kitara kingdom, Andrew Byakutaga is back as the Omuhikirwa (prime minister).

He was today Friday 6 reinstated by the Omukama (king) Solomon Gafabusa Iguru in a letter dated April 6, copied to, among others, the State Minister for Bunyoro Affairs, the Inspector General of Police and Principal Judge.

In the letter, the king said he was misinformed into signing the April 3 royal declaration that reinstated Norman Lukumu as premier and directed Byakutaga to stop carrying out the duties of the premier immediately.

He said that he was misinformed that declaration was for the release of money toward the support of the kingdom from the Ugandan government and that his seal and stamp were not necessary to authenticate the declaration.

"I have since reviewed the signed document and received advice on its contents. I wish to inform emyenda ya Kitara that the declaration of 3rd April 2018, is inconsistent with the new measures, which I put in place to develop a new strategic plan, strengthen corporate governance, comply with set management processes and accountability in Bunyoro-Kitara kingdom. Consequently, I hereby revoke the declaration issued on 3rd April 2018," the Omukama said in his letter.
