Uganda junior golfers beat their Kenyan counterparts by 21-17 points to win the Lake Victoria Serena Classic-Bob Baldassari Cup that followed three days of competition on the Easter weekend at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort.
Uganda, Kenya and Indian children participated in the final of the head-on putting and nearest to the pin competition, which was interrupted by a downpour that cut short the competition before all rounds could be exhausted.
But it was Lawrence Nambale (148 gross), Shaka Kariisa (140), Youhann Chandhok (129) and Koech Kipkalya (59 gross) who topped the earlier nine-hole golf competition in the 10 and above, 8-9, 6-7 and the under 5 years categories.
Brandon Sekyana, Keisha Kagoro and Kaur Agamjot were the boys and girls runners up in the top two categories while Banza Matsiko and Kianna Lakhani followed in 6-7 year's category.

Koech Kipkalya, Shah Kavya, Caelan Shah, Vinya Ayama Charles Kai and Sean Momo also did well in the under 5 category.
Tournament director Emanuel Kasio said the competition is aimed at creating future responsible citizens through this game where they learn proper etiquette and discipline through the uniqueness of this sport. He said the floating trophy was a very unique concept aimed at making the kids feels like they are attached to the game and enhancing team spirit.
