The youths are increasing choosing drugs as a way of life, said Kwiringira
Mapinduzi, a Christian foundation involved in youth empowerment is set to host an outdoor cinema at Makerere University Business School today at 7:00pm.
The outdoor Cinema dubbed Star Light Cinema will be supplemented with performances from gospel musicians like Mal X, Janice the poet, D'reign, Jo Swabo and comedian Emeka.
According to Nikole Kwiringira, the chief organiser of the event, the cinema is intended to restore hope in youth especially University students who have been involved in drugs, alcohol and toxic substances.
"The youths are increasing choosing drugs as a way of life. So we intend to bring hope in their lives and showing the dangers of drugs and other vices through cinema to those who are not yet victims," Nikole told New Vision.
Pastor James Kasumba, one of the pastors at Covenant Nations Church called on the youth to attend the Cinema because it will impact their lives.
"I call upon all the youth to come and have an evening with their lord and rejoice in praise and worship," Pr. James said.
He said the youth are the future generation of the country so they should be protected from all evils.
"We hold annual youth conferences called Born Free Conference to win souls of young people from evils of alcohol and drug abuse," He added.
