Buhari writes to Museveni on trade, investment

ENTEBBE - President Yoweri Museveni has received a letter from his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, who expresses Nigeria's interest in enhancing further the trade and investments opportunities between the two nations.

The stronger ties are aimed at achieving sustainable development in Uganda and Nigeria, both located on opposite ends of the continent.
 
Nigeria's High Commissioner to Uganda Dr Etubom Nya Eyoma Asuquo, delivered President Buhari's letter to President Museveni on Monday at State House, Entebbe.
 
At the President's official residence, Museveni and Asuquo also discussed issues pertaining to the consolidation of the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Uganda.

Nigeria is one of Africa's biggest economies and was ranked 21st in the world in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2015.

Uganda has been experiencing consistent economic growth and in the 2015/16 financial year, the east African nation registered GDP growth of 4.6% in real terms and 11.6% in nominal terms.
