DEMONSTRATION
JINJA - Traffic along the Jinja-Iganga highway came to a standstill after supporters of the Kyabazinga demonstrated in protest against the state minister for lands, Persis Namuganza.
The demonstration was led by Joan Machora Kitto, the kingdom minister of foreign affairs. They matched from the kingdom headquarters in Bugembe to Busoga square in Jinja town.
While in Bukono sub-county, Luuka district at a public function two weeks ago, Namuganza informed people that they should not allow the Kyabazinga to access Luuka district.
She noted the Kyabazinga was politically appointed by the government.
The minister also accused the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, of witch-hunting her.
Kitto wondered where the minister gets authority to stop the Kyabzinga from accessing places under his kingdom.
Andrew Ntenge, the kingdom spokesperson, urged people remain calm as they demand for a formal apology from the minister.
