MOROTO - At least two people were on Monday night strangled to death on separate incidences by unidentified persons in Moroto district.

The deceased have been identified as Thomas Telo, a resident of Nabokat village, Naitakwae parish-Nadunget sub-county and Moru Nakoroi, who hails from Pupu village in Rupa sub-county.

Telo's body was found about 250 metres from his home whereas the Nakoroi's   was found in an abandoned settlement not far from her home.

Modan Kioko, the LC1 of Katanga village, said they had received reports that Telo had been seen the previous night drinking with some people, only to be reported dead the following morning.

Kioko urged residents to be on alert as investigations into the murders go on.

Thomas Ochen Opiga, the officer in charge of the crime desk at the Moroto Central Police, described the incident as unfortunate, saying the Police would get to the bottom of the matter.

"We have established that the deceased was killed at some unknown place," Opiga noted, adding that the body was just dumped in a garden.

Opiga said the Police had so far arrested one suspect in connection to death of Telo.
