Museveni, family attend Christmas prayers

“I congratulate you all upon reaching this day. It's right to praise God because He is faithful to bring to us this day every year. Merry Christmas,” the First Lady told the congregation.

President Yoweri Museveni, his wife Janet Museveni and family attend Christmas service at St. Luke Nshwerenkye Church of Uganda in Kenshuga Sub-county, Kiruhuura District.

"I congratulate you all upon reaching this day. It's right to praise God because He is faithful to bring to us this day every year. Merry Christmas," the First Lady told the congregation.

She added: "These days we put up a Christmas tree but forget what it symbolizes. The tree symbolizes the cross on which Christ died; the lights on the tree symbolize that He came to bring light to this world. The gifts remind us that Jesus was given to us as a gift. So we thank God for His love."
