The Entebbe Police OC CIID Daniel Batte revealed that one suspect was detained at Entebbe Police Station.
A decomposing body of a yet to be identified man was on Monday evening discovered dumped in a bush a few meters away from Katabi town council offices and Katabi Police post.
The identity of the deceased could not be established. Witnesses who saw the body disclosed that it had several injuries on the head.
The deceased also had a bag on his back which contained no documents for identification.
The Entebbe Police OC CIID Daniel Batte revealed that one suspect was detained at Entebbe Police Station. He further said, the arrested suspect in his statement confided that he had gone to defecate in the bush where he saw the body, before calling the police. Batte called on the public and Katabi residents to avail more information in regard to the matter.
"We suspect the body could have stayed in the bush for close to a week because it was already decomposing. I appeal to the general public to avail Police with any information regarding the deceased so that we can commence with the investigations.
If we establish the identity of the deceased, we shall get the criminals," revealed the police boss. The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem.
