Ssekandi told couples to avoid negativity and rumours, which he said destroy marriages.

Vice President Edward Ssekandi has commended the Uganda Police Force leadership for encouraging its officers to marry and settle down, saying it makes officers more responsible, both at work and home, and increases productivity.

He also urged the police senior officers to lead by example both in public and private, saying they are a mirror to those they lead and mostly emulate many things about them, which they will also apply in the management of the police force affairs.

Ssekandi was speaking during the wedding of Corporal John Nzayisenga, a member of his security detail and Rukundo Ruth at Katwe Seventh day Adventist Church in Masaka Municipality.

He noted that marriage comes with many benefits, but warned couples to avoid negativity and rumours, which he said destroy marriage.

Pastor Josiah Usaba, who wed the couple, asked them to be faithful and truthful to each other so as to raise a God-fearing family and urged them to always have a common ground on most of the major decisions on issues affecting their home.

The couple later hosted their guests at Queens Gardens Hotel in Kyazanga, Lwengo district.
