Give PWDs jobs - employers told
Uganda currently has 4.3 million people with disabilities and many of them have attained the required education and skills.

The Government has asked employers to offer jobs to people with disabilities (PWDs) so they too can improve their livelihood.

The minister of state for gender, Peace Mutuuzo, said Uganda currently has 4.3 million people with disabilities and many of them have attained the required education and skills.

Mutuuzo said employers should also guarantee their (PWDs) accessibility to places of work by putting up the necessary infrastructure to allow them execute their duties.

She said this while announcing the international day of persons with disabilities, which will be celebrated on December 3 in Kamwenge district under the theme: "Employment of persons with disabilities, a key to sustainable development".
