Referee category introduced at FUFA Awards

FUFA Upcoming Referee of the Year is the new category that has been included by the organisers of the Airtel FUFA Awards.

The upcoming talent in refereeing will be considered basing on his or her performance in the FUFA Junior League.

"We value so much the efforts put in by the young referees officiating in the FUFA Juniors League. A project for the young referees started two years ago and there has been tremendous improvement and enthusiasm from this group," said FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein.

"The procedure for selection of nominees will be done amongst the young referees to get the winner who will be crowned on 1st December, 2017 at Speke Resort Munyonyo" he added.

The FUFA Upcoming Referee of the Year brings the total of awards categories to 12.

Meanwhile, more partners have come on board to sponsor the awards. Post Bank (sh6m) and URA (sh5m) are the latest partners to inject money in the awards.

The other partners for the awards are; Nile Special, NIC, RoundBob, BIDCO, SMS One, Azam TV, Ecobank, 102.1 FUFA fm.

Airtel are the official sponsors of the FUFA Awards.
