Esther Wangare starred as KICC came up big against a fancied Wanderers side in the Jazz Safari National Women's League on Saturday at Entebbe Oval.

Playing their first game of the season, Franklin Najjumba and Co. sought inspiration from man of the match Wangare who was firing on all cylinders in the 5 wicket win for KICC.

Her four wicket haul helped restrict Janet Mbabazi's Wanderers to 83 despite Jennifer Nabwana chipping in with 21 from 45 balls.

Faith Mwende stepped up as KICC successfully chased the game, scoring a team best of 26 not out from 33 balls. Jane Achieng struck 20 off 30 balls in what turned out to be a brave statement by KICC.

In division two, playing 30 overs, Aziz Damani Masaka SS ran riot over JACC despite being the visiting side in Jinja.

Upcoming star Immaculate Nakisuyi was the star of the show, knocking a brutal 121 from just 69 balls, helping move the scoreboard to 246 in the first innings to which Rebecca Babirye's 10 not out from 10 balls proved insignificant for the home team.

Even then Julia Karungi's 5 wicket haul proved destructive to JACC who were all out for 14 in just 9.5 overs!

At Nadejje, a walk over was awarded to Charity against Premier.
