The Democratic Party (DP) has disowned members who were presented to the president yesterday during the Independence Day celebrations.

During the celebrations in Bushenyi district, DP's Nakiwala Kiyingi who is the state minister for youth, presented to the President purported DP county leaders in Western Uganda, who had joined the President to celebrate the day.

DP press secretary Fred Mwesigwa said they have not conducted elections at county level in Bushenyi and lashed out at the minister for taking politics as a business to get money from the ruling party through stage managing defections.

He challenged the minister to present party cards of the purported leaders.
