It was a hard fought 88-81 victory for the Betway Power basketball team over the resilient Ndejje Angels Sunday in the men's National Basketball League campaign at the MTN Arena, Lugogo.
Makiadi nailed a game high 23 points to lead coach Arnold Lando's side to the win.
The five time champions managed to a comeback after trailing for three quarters of the campaign. Ndejje Angels held a 7 point-lead after two quarters before taking a 63-60 lead after the first three quarters.
Power had its turning point when Francis Kasinde made two points to cut down his team's deficit to a point before Makiadi added an extra two as Power controlled the game 64-63. They never looked back from that point.
With three minutes left on the clock, Power managed to score an extra 24 points to seal an 88-81 comeback that earned them victory against the University side.
Michael Otieno and Deng Maker scored 21 and 17 points respectively for Ndejje but it was not enough to put down a solid Power side.
