Kampala Restaurant Week ends in style

The evening was sealed with awards
Kampala foodies were treated to a 10-day dining thrill during the just concluded Kampala Restaurant Week.
The ceremony was held at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Monday evening in quite a glitzy fashion. Foodies attended in good numbers as invited and nibbled at all delicacies prepared by Sheraton staff as well as guzzling the free-flowing Tusker Lite beers.
This event organized by Pearl Guide Uganda and in its third edition, is fast-becoming Kampala's largest restaurant showcase.
While the last editions only scoured Kampala restaurants, this year's edition saw the organisers extend the thrill to Jinja and Mbarara making 40 the number of restaurants that participated.
The evening was sealed with awards moment to recognize restaurants that were innovative and offered amazing dining thrills during the week.
The Explorer Restaurant of Kampala Serena Hotel scooped two awards on the night taking Outstanding Service Award and Top Signature Dining Restaurant Awards.
Innovation Award (Dish of the Week Award) went to Le Chateau while Riders Lounge took home the Top Casual Dining restaurant award.
The restaurants were judged by members of the public and judges from the Chaine de Rotisseurs, a body of Chefs worldwide. The body which comprises of over 25,000 members worldwide also has 60 members coming from Uganda.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Grace Namutebi, UBL's brand manager premium beers said; "Today we take home an unforgettable experience from this year's Kampala Restaurant Week. The restaurants that have been voted as the best in the various categories, we salute you for your meals and services and we hope you continue giving us the best."
