He said the side is performing well in the league and will possibly win the league title

Despite losing at home in the 21st edition of the Nkumba University Volleyball Open, Nkumba University sports tutor Patrick Ssebuliba is confident that his women's side will continue to top the National Volleyball League.

Nkumba volleyball women who are currently top of the national league lost two games to Vision Volleyball Camp in the Nkumba Open yet they had already registered two successive wins over the same team in both the league and the Kabaka Birthday Volleyball Festival.

However the loss at home did not seem to be of any worry to Ssebuliba who later said that his side is performing well in the league and will possibly win the league title.

"In sports we always have challengers and it was VVC's time to prove to us that they can also win us. We still top the league which all our emphasis is on," said Ssebuliba.

"It has also been the first time in Nkumba's history to have institutions reach the finals of the Open in the clubs category, our girls are very determined to win the league and probably feature at the Africa Clubs Championships for the fourth time," Ssebuliba added.

Ssebuliba encouraged other institutions to take an example from Ndejje, Nkumba and Uganda Christian University in the sports world.

"Ndejje, Nkumba and UCU have excelled in sports over the ages and other institutions should borrow a leaf because sport is also part of education,"Ssebuliba said.

The annual event attracted 28 teams from all over the country and the institution will host the next event in June 2018.
