Former legislator Deo Rwabiita Kajunzire passed away on Wednesday night at around 10.30pm at Kiruddu Hospital aged 74.
Rwabiita who was born 1943 in Kyaruhimbi, Kayenje Nyabuhikye in current Ibanda Municipality is survived by his wife Connie Rwabiita and five children according to his brother Dr. Garacian Rushambuza.
The deceased joined politics in early 1988 when he was appointed Deputy Minister of Relief and Social Rehabilitation in President Yoweri Museveni's government.
Rwabiita served the country in different capacities as an MP for Ibanda Constituency for 14 years from 1988 to 2001 and later as the ambassador to Rome and Belgium respectively.
In 2001, the Ibanda seat was taken over by Eng. John Byabagambi the Minister of Karamoja Affairs.
