Fort Portal rally drivers fail scrutineering

There is excitement in Fort portal town as rally drivers bring their cars for scrutineering at Shell Fort Portal.

Ronald Ssebuguzi and Samuel Watendwa were the first to bring their cars at shell station where scrutineering is done.

 

However,Watendwa driving a Toyota Celica 2WD and Edward Kirumira in a Subaru Impreza were still waiting their fate from the stewards' meeting as they didn't pass  scrutineering.

Forty two drivers including Ronald Ssebuguzi, Christakis Fitidis, Duncan Mubiru, Omar Mayanja, Ambrose Byoona, Musa Kabega, Wilbert Pole Pole, Peter Kalule and Fred Wapamba passed scrutineering a head of the super special stage that starts today at Boma ground.

The drivers after scrutineering took theirs cars to Boma ground for the super special stage and then attack the nine competitive stages which include Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru (14.50kms), Rwenzori tea (12.20kms), Mabale (16.76kms), Mpanga (27.09km) and Zaborogota (22.2km) on Sunday.

 

Rwenzori, Mabale and Mpanga will be repeated once.

Ronald Ssebuguzi leads the national rally championship table standings with 250points, ninety ahead of second placed Duncan Mubiru (160pts).

Christakis Fitidis is third with 125points, while Fred Wampamba, Omar Mayanja and Hima Cement Ambassador Ambrose Byona are in third, fourth and fifth positions respectively with 100points each.
