Despite qualifying for the knock out stages as Group B leaders, Kibuli SS coach Daniel Male knows it is not going to be easy defending the Copa Coca Cola trophy.
After their 3-0 win over Kigezi High that ensured their qualification as Group B leaders Male said this year's competition was stronger because each region is represented by a regional champion.
"Just like you saw, our game against Kigezi was a do or die because we were tied on points, so we had to win to ensure we qualify as group leaders," Male noted.
"We want to win the cup again because we are the defending champions, but everyone else wants it too; so it is not going to be easy but our strategy is to reach the final and see what happens there," Male said.
Kibuli's prospects are buoyed by the presence of the tournament top scorer Moses Aliro (12 goals) who scored 9 in a single match during their 16-1 mauling of Kibaale in one of the group games.
Despite missing a penalty against Kigezi he is one of the top strikers in the tournament who could be key for them in their pursuit of a 11th title.
Julius Poloto (6 goals) who features for Azam Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC is the other goal grabber on the record winners Kibuli's side.
St. Mary's Kitende's 12-0 win over Sebei College and St. Noah's 12-0 over Adwar remain some of the biggest results from the group games.
