Police in Katakwi has launched investigations into the head teacher of Magoro Primary School who is suspected to have defiled a pupil.

Mark Imalignant Ocepa is suspected to have defiled the 16-year-old girl on Friday at around 5pm as schools closed for first term holidays.

The OC CID Katakwi Central Police Station John Odongo said the victim is a primary seven candidate.

Odongo revealed that according to one of their crime preventers in Magoro, the victim on the fateful day told her parents after reaching home late that the Ocepa invited her to his office claiming he wanted to send her for some items at the nearby shops.

On reaching the office, the Ocepa allegedly grabbed her and defiled her after which he warned her not to say anything to anyone.

The victim's parents reported the matter to the sub county crime preventer coordinator, John Bosco Okiror, who reported the matter to Police.

According to the OC CID, investigations into the matter have started and once complete, the accused person will be arrested to answer charges of defilement.

But in a phone interview with New Vision Ocepa denied defiling the pupil.

"Those are allegations aimed at tarnishing my name, how can I go and defile my own daughter?", he asked.
