Ssenkumbi redeployed in Police shuffle

In the shuffle, signed off by deputy Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola, five other officers have been redeployed

The deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Okoth Ochola, has appointed Ibin Ssenkumbi, as the spokesperson of the International Police's (Interpol) base in Kampala.

Ssenkumbi, the former Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, was redeployed along with five other senior Police officers in the latest reshuffle.

Ssenkumbi who returned to his publicist role seven months ago after spending a year serving in the United Nations missions in South Sudan and Somalia respectively, has been serving as the Rwizi regional Police spokesperson.

In a written message to all Police heads of department, Ochola also appointed Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Irene Chelangat as the new Regional Traffic Officer for the Albertine Region and ASP Hadi Seiko as the new officer in-charge (OC) of traffic in Mbale district.

Others are; ASP Reinhold Rwakirenzi redeployed as OC traffic, Lwengo, ASP Jude Nasucha moved to Arua from Kumi as the OC station and ASP Stephen Ojok moved to Kumi as OC station.

According to Ochola, the transfers take immediate effect.
