6 year old child burnt to ashes in a house fire

The deceased has been identified as Swabrah Kemigisa belonging to family of Matia Ssesanga residents of Kahyoro village, Muhorro Sub County, Kagadi district.

The police in Kagadi are investigating circumstances under which a six year old girl died in a house fire following misunderstandings between two related families in Kahyoro village, Muhorro Sub County Kagadi district.

The deceased has been identified as Swabrah Kemigisa belonging to family of Matia Ssesanga residents of Kahyoro village, Muhorro Sub County, Kagadi district.

It  is alleged that the arsonists behind this heinous act were from the family of Omuhereza Balinda, a relative and neighbour in the same area.

According to Ssesanga, a step father to the deceased girl, the conflict begun when  Baguma, one of the sons of Omuhereza Balinda allegedly defiled his daughter last year.

"This conflict has not just begun because we have been involved in various misunderstandings and i highly suspect that this is the cause of such acts," said Ssesanga.

The Kahyoro LC1 chairperson Steven Kasibante has confirmed that the two families have been involved in conflicts over marrying a defiled girl.

"It's true these two families have been having serious misunderstandings and as leaders we tried to unite them but all in vain," said Kasibante.

Meanwhile police have already begun hunting for six people in connection to this heinous act.

Some of the suspects on the run have been identified as Daudi Asiimwe, Asaba Asiimwe, Abigaba and his wife, Twekambe Tibamwenda and his wife , all residents of Kahyoro village in Muhorro sub county, Kagadi district.

The district head of criminal investigations department Isaac Mugera told New Vision that investigations into the matter are on to bring the culprits to book.

Mugera condemned such acts where innocent children are being killed yet if such cases are reported to police early enough horrible incidents like this could be avoided.

"The public needs to report any conflict to police so that such heinous acts are avoided in community," said Mugera.
