This Saturday, 19th will see a multitude of Kigezi High School (KHS) Old Students gather at Kavumba Recreation Centre in Wakiso district to celebrate their academic roots.

The event, based on the theme, ‘Reconnecting to root for 2022 (KHS at 100)' will see the old students of the Kabale based school participate in a wide range of team building activities; especially sports.

According to Paul Kanoti, one of the lead organisers of the re-union, the members who lived in the school's 14 dormitories will be split into two teams that will compete against each other in games like football for both boys and girls, swimming, sack racing and track races; among several more sporting activities.

Among the key issues to be discussed will be early strategic plans in preparation for the school's centenary celebrations in 2022.

The school was home to some of the country's outstanding personalities including Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile (the Governor of the Bank of Uganda), Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, FDC former president Dr. Kiiza Besigye, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba, former presidential candidate Abed Bwanika and Philemon Mateke.

Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba and renowned businessman, Alfred Kabuchu are expected to attend the event.

Kanoti said that it was important that all old students make it to the event so a clear path can be channeled in preparations for the 2022 celebrations.
