The children do not attend regular school but rather a community based learning center

Children who reside in Soweto, the biggest slum in Namuwongo, Makindye division in Kampala received Toto Magazines, produced by New Vision recently.

The children do not attend regular school but rather a community based learning center to acquire education in literacy and numeracy.

The children were excited to see the magazines because whereas some had heard about the magazines, they thought they were for only for privileged children.

After receiving copies of the magazine, they thanked New Vision for the gesture.

Lothra Arishaba, the caretaker said the number of children is not constant.

Since the centre started in January this year, the number keeps fluctuating between 100 to 150.
