Civil appeals involve Uganda Revenue Authority versus Rabbo Enterprises (U) Ltd and another

The Supreme Court has set 14 days starting November 22, 2016 within which to hear 30 cases involving constitutional appeals and applications, civil appeals and applications.

The court on October 27 held a-one-day pre-hearing session of all the appeals before Justice Prof Lillian Ekirikubinza Tibatemwa and also set the hearing of the appeals to be held between November 22 and December 19, 2016.

The appeals include constitutional applications involving Gladys Nakibuule Kisekka versus Attorney General and former Toro premier John Ssanyu Katuramu and 49 others versus Attorney General which are scheduled for November 22. Another constitutional application involves former Bukonzo East MP Bihande Bwambale Yokasi versus Fred Police Businge.

Civil appeals involve Uganda Revenue Authority versus Rabbo Enterprises (U) Ltd and another, Mariam Nalikka Mpinga & 3 others versus Ernest S. Sensasilire scheduled for November 23.

Silver Byaruhanga versus Emmanuel Ruvu Gwaho and another for November 24, Kagati Mixed Farmers Co-op. Society versus Tindahwerwato and George Williama Mulindwa versus Joseph Kisubika for Nov. 25, Bitamisi Namuddu versus Godfrey Rwabuganda for November 29 and Emmanuel Lukwajju versus Kyaggwe Coffee Curing Estate Ltd and another.

 

The other civil appeals involve Giuliano Gariggio and Claudio Casadio and Mabale Growers Tea Factory versus Noorali Mohammed both set for December 6. Executive Directors (NEMA) versus Solid State Ltd and Monitor Publications Ltd versus Ricky Nelson Asiimwe set for December 7.
Twinobusingye Severino versus Attorney General (8/12/2016) and Mohammed Mohammed Hamid versus Roko Construction Limited (9/12/2016).

Civil applications involve Bitamisi Namuddu versus Godfrey Rwabuganda (29/11), Commisioner General Land Registration and another versus Emmanuel Lukwajju (30/11/2016).

Mohammad Kasasa versus Jaspha Buyonga and anothers (1/12), Samuel Kasule versus James Mubeezi and 7 others and Charles Lwanga Masengere versus Godi Bagambe and others, Sophatia Beithi versus Nangobi Jane and others and Mathew Rukikaire versus Incafes Ltd (2/12/2016).

Mukasa Mbidde and other versus Law Development Centre and Fred Kasoma versus James Ssembatya both set for 8/12/2016 and Silver Mukasa versus Evaristo Nyanzi and another and Uganda Air Cargo Corporation versus Moses Kirunda and others set for 9/12/2016.
