Ntungamo Mourns UPC strongman

Maj. Edward Rurangaranga, a former UPC chairman and senior cabinet minister in Obote II government lauded Kubiriba for remaining in UPC till the end.

The Ntungamo district Uganda Peoples' Congress Chairman Kaisho-Ruzibiza said as a party they have lost a great man who was also a hero and it's a big loss to the country.

Lay Canon Kubiriba will always be remembered for being hard working because he has been a leader at different levels.

He has been the Chairman of Ntungamo district Pensioners Association also a board member of the district Public Accounts Committee.

UPC Chairman Ruzibiza noted that the gap that Can.Kubiriba has created in their party will take long to be filled since he has been their elder and adviser in the district and the country at large.

Major Edward Rurangaranga the former UPC National Chairman and Bushenyi west Member of Parliament in Obote 2 regime described the late Kubiriba as one of their good serving Administrative Secretaries during their reign, and that he remained a member of UPC till when he has departed to heaven, he appealed to other Congress men and women to copy Kubiriba's principals who decided to die in his mother party!, and asked people to emulate him and the good legacy he has left.

The bishop of South Ankole Diocese Nathan Ahimbisibwe mourned Lay Can.Kubiriba for his constant commitments in serving the church, and said he will be remembered for the great work he did when he was the Chairman of the Consecration Committee that spearheaded the installation of him as the first Bishop of South Ankole Diocese on 8th January 2012. He further noted that due to his good services towards God he decided to honour him with a Lay Canon title.

Nahabwe Gregory the mayor of Rwashamaire town council described the late Kubiriba as a man who was exemplary and a pillar in development as he was the Arbitrator of Kajara People's SACCO and role model farmer in Rwashamaire and Kajara County where he had a factory of banana wine that was used in church during their holy communion.

Mayor Nahabwe who's commonly referred to as Grennar said Can. Kubiriba is the one who extended the gravity water in his town as he was the Chairman of South Western Water and Sanitation (Maizi-marungi) project.

Wilson Amutuhaire the Deputy Headmaster of Muntuyera High School also commended the late Can.Kubiriba for his good services because he has been a board member of PTA.

Can.Kubiriba (who died in his late 60s) will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kyenshaki,Rwashamaire town council-kajara in Ntungamo district on the weekend.
