Former FDC president Dr. Kizza Besigye, has said President Yoweri Museveni is not Uganda's problem, but the system in place. He said his agenda is not to oust President Museveni as a person because he is not the problem, but his system.

"I am not against Mr. Museveni. He can go and the situation remains the same or worsens more. People jubilated when former president Idi Amin ousted Milton Obote, but it wasn't a while before they started crying over Amin's acts. The same thing happened when Amin was ousted up to now some of us are not happy with the way Mr. Museveni has carried on the system. So I am against the system of injustice not Museveni as a person," he says.

Besigye said this while addressing a press conference at his home in Kasangati, Wakiso district on Thursday morning.

The press conference was attended by opposition big wigs such as Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, former presidential candidate Elton Mabirizi and city councilors.

He said while abroad, he engaged with many people including potential investors in the country.

He added that he doesn't intend to apologise to legislators for criticizing them over acts of tax payers' money wastage on journeys that are of no benefit to Ugandans.

"You spend $50,000 (about sh180m) on just sponsoring the speakers and their MPs to go abroad and enjoy life, yet Ugandans in Teso and other regions are starving. This is incredible. I went there not because I support this, but I wanted to tell them my feelings about what they had done , which I did and they got annoyed but I have no regrets," says Besigye.
