Amuria authorities to fine parents for not schooling kids

Any parent found with a school going child will have to pay a fine of ten thousand shillings
The authorities of Apeduru Sub County in Amuria district have come up with bye-laws aimed at curbing school drop outs and absenteeism among the pupils in the sub county.
Ali Aleper Odeke the Apeduru LC3 chairperson said they resolved as a council to end rampant school dropout and absenteeism in an interview.
Aleper said they sat in the council a week ago and resolved that any parent found with a school going child will have to pay a fine of ten thousand shillings.
Aleper appealed to parents to ensure that no school going child is left at home as the operation is imminent.
