Soroti residents want noisy bar closed

Residents of Teso Inn and Kengere Ward, Eastern Division in Soroti Municipality have complained about ‘Fresh Moments Bar' which they say has become a security concern.

Some of the concerned residents who spoke to Etop Radio said they are spending sleepless nights because of the loud noise produced from the bar.

Whereas some disclosed that they have been waylaid at night while accessing the route next to the bar, others revealed that their houses had been looted by thugs who take advantage of the bar to execute their missions.

Muhamad Nasur the councillor LC5 representing Eastern Division at the district council said that Fresh Moments Bar reportedly operates beyond the stipulated hours and has become a hide out for thugs.

He called on the office of District Police Commander to come to the rescue of the residents.

Meanwhile Andrew Apedu the proprietor of the bar explained that allegations brought against his establishment are baseless.

According to Apedu, his bar operates only within the stipulated hours as guided by Police directives.
