Makerere to face Kyambogo in University Football League

Vincent Kisenyi said that as organizer, he expected high level competition.

The Nile Special University Football League championship resumes on September 21, 2016 with Makerere taking on Kyambogo University at Maroons Stadium in Luzira.

The Nile Special University Football League quarterfinal matches involving Makerere, Kyambogo, Nkumba, Uganda Martyrs, Gulu, Busitema and Uganda Christian University will be played home and away.

While launching the knockout stage at Kati Kati restaurant in Kampala on Tuesday, chairman Vincent Kisenyi said that as organizer, he expected high level competition.

"The University Football League has established itself as one of the most competitive and exciting football competitions in Uganda. The University Football League is and we look forward to maintaining this in the years ahead," Kisenyi said.

Teams in quarterfinal of the Nile Special, Moneygram, Spedag Interfreight, UAP Insurance and Rwenzori Mineral Water sponsored championship.

The 2015 champions Makerere University Business School (MUBS) could not match the 2016 competition and was knocked out at the group stage.
