Former star Jonan Turigye showed remarkable recovery as he returned to the victory podium after silencing Habib Sebuguzi to win the Easter Cup in Masaka on Saturday.

The Hot Pool Cub new signing showed that he still has rare skills as he dispelled his team mate 8-6 at Club Klein in Nyendo Masaka.

"I have been working hard to recover my form. After this achievement, I think this is going to be a good season for me," remarked Turigye after the feat which earned him a top prize of sh1m.

In the women's category, Ritah Nimusiima retained the title after clawing from behind to beat top seed Jacinta Kajubi 6-5 in the Club Klein sponsored event.

But it was Turigye who announced a wonderful come back since he lost his winning touch after winning the Nile Special Open in 2013.

The former top seed proved to be a no Joke as he showed articulate shots. The former Skin Samona king pin set the tone early when he silenced Upper Volta's danger man Donald Ampumuza 5-1 in the quarterfinals. Seed two Sula Matovu could not match Turigye in the semi-final.

HOT Pool Club manager Bob Trubish was an equally elated man in the day. "I feel so happy for my boy. I( believe h (Turigye) will gradually comeback on in top. I congratulate him upon his impressive displays in the entire championship" he said.
