South African female motocross rider Brittany Cuthbert arrived in the country Wednesday, promising to give Ugandan motocross fans value for their money on Easter Sunday in Busiika during the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship.

Cuthbert, the 2013 and 2014 Africa women champion, said that she has the experience of riding with men because she does so back home in South Africa.

She said she will offer a formidable challenge to Ugandan champion Maxime Van Pee.

"It is all about the girl power this weekend. I have raced with men in South Africa and I will put up my best on Sunday," she told New Vision upon her arrival at Entebbe Airport.

The 22-year-old rider said she always trains hard and goes to gym to see that she is fit enough to take on other competitors in any race, regardless of gender.

Cuthbert was impressed by the growth of women in motocross in Uganda, Zambia and South Africa.

According Noella Blick, the motocross female representative on FMU, Cuthbert is in the country to promote women motocross and the theme of Sunday's event is ‘Women in motocross'.

Cuthbert will be joined by Ugandan female riders like Gloria Lugya, Isabella Blick, Aminah Zawedde, Shamirah Katete, Alexia Van Pee and the Mwangala sisters Abigail and Esther Mwangala to battle the male competitors in the different classes.

The event is co-sponsored by Mountain Dew, ICEA Insurance Group, Era Hotel, Safe Solutions and IAA Resolution Health.
