Motocross: Female riders to take on men on Easter Sunday

Uganda has nine female riders competing in the various categories in the national and international championships.

Africa's female motocross champion, Brittany Cuthbert will lead female riders in a battle with men during the second round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship in Busiika on Easter Sunday.

Cuthbert will battle Maxime Van Pee in the MX1 category while the rest will battle men in the other categories.

The event manager Leila Blick and Nowella Blick, the female motocross representative on the FMU disclosed this on Tuesday during the launch of the event at the National Council of Sports Lugogo.

"We are bringing Africa female motocross champion Brittany Cuthbert from South Africa on Easter Sunday and she will compete in the MX1 with Maxime Van Pee," Leila stated.

"This event's Theme is promoting women in motorcycling and it will be fully managed by women only on that day," Leila Blick added.

Uganda has nine female riders competing in the various categories in the national and international championships.

They include, Aminah Zawedde, Isabella Blick, Esther Mwangala, Sharifah Kateete, Gloria Lugya, Abigel Mwangala, Shamirah Kateete, Shadiah Kateete, Keiza Kauthra and Alexia Van Pee.
