NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni has directed Kampala City Council Authority boss Jennifer Musisi to halt what he called exploitation of traders in city arcades.

At a rally held at Namboole Stadium parking yard on Tuesday evening, President Museveni noted that he had received information about tenants' exploitation by the owners of arcades especially through charging them highly for electricity and using the toilets in these buildings.

“I’ve been informed that some of the work places are not good for you and you are being exploited” he said.

Museveni noted that this is illegal and wants Musisi to ensure that arcade owners construct more toilets in their buildings which should be free of charge in addition to ensuring that each shop has its own electricity meter.

“I’m going to direct the electricity company to put electricity meters in every shop so that the shopkeeper pays for the electricity he uses” he said.
