When Sam Kahamba Kutesa was born on February 1st 1949, in Sembabule, where his family is known to be religious. His father is said to have traversed most parts of Africa, preaching the word of God. Kutesa is the 12th person from Africa to serve as presdient UN general assembly, since 1964.
The last person from Africa was Ali Treki from Libya, who occupied the position in 2009. A seasoned lawyer and legislator, Kutesa is family man. His daughter is married to the President Yoweri Museveni’s son, Brigadier Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Sam Kutesa’s agenda for the UN presidency
