UGANDA Christian University (UCU) are expected to play their first Nile Special University Football League match today and coach Jackson Nyima is eager to take advantage and squeeze a result out of their host Uganda Martyrs University (UMU).

The two sides have never met before and Nyima believes it will be a blessing in disguise for both sides especially because his team knows Uganda Martyrs’ previous performances in the league.

Uganda Martyrs have participated in the league since it started in 2011 but have struggled to make an impact in the competition while UCU is making its debut appearance this year.

"We took long to join the competition and we are really eager to compete. We have prepared enough to face the challenge," Nyima said.

The Nile Special University Football League is yet to witness goals after Nkumba and Kyambogo universities played out yet another goalless draw in Entebbe on Wednesday.

Nkumba coach Patrick Sebuliba, who had sounded upset with the result later said after the match that he was happy with it because Kyambogo was one of the teams he respects in terms of football tactics.

“I am happy with the result because drawing with a good team like Kyambogo. I expect you to be proud of me for draw,” a laid back Sebuliba said after the match.
