Last week , 14 of Uganda’s finest rappers collaborated on a major Hip Hop project called the UG Cypher. The term “cypher” generally refers to something similar to a Hip Hop jam session in which all the rappers involved contribute to the creative experience one after another in a circular format.

Rap cyphers often become quite competitive where rappers prove their ability and self-expression through their personal style of lyrics, creativity, delivery and flow.

The first edition of UG Cypher features Navio, GNL, Mith, JB, Atlas, Flex D’Paper, Keko, Tucker (AirporTaxi), Llyboq (AirporTaxi), Big Tril, St. Nelly Sade, Ruyonga, Don MC & DJ Global.

The entire project was created and sponsored by Talent Africa; a 360 entertainment company venturing in music, film, events and talent.

“It was amazing to see all these artists come together on the UG Cypher. They all brought their best and proved that Uganda is a force to reckon with when it comes to Hip Hop”.

Look out for the UG Cypher coming soon to your favorite urban music radio and TV stations locally and Africa-wide,” says Aly Allibhai, the Talent Africa CEO.
