Bodaboda registration kicks off in Kampala

Registration of Bodaboda cyclists (commuter cyclist) operating in the city is underway in different centers in Kampala.

According to the deputy director public and co-operate Affairs, George Ndahendekire, training and sensitization of all the riders in the city was complete.

Registration of the commuters was delayed after a cross section of boda- boda riders' associations demanded for more dialogue.

"KCCA has been sensitizing stakeholders to reduce on misunderstandings and resistance. KCCA and police completed the exercises of sensitizing all the riders and we shall go ahead as planned," Ndahendekire explained.

KCCA has embarked on an exercise in order to streamline the Boda boda industry starting with registration.  This according to KCCA will improve traffic management in the City, decongestion, crime and the high volume of Bodaboda related accidents.

 The registration of corporate and private Motorcycles was completed by KCCA officials on September 30.
