After suspending their executive, Sports Club Villa have released eleven players and replaced them with six new ones, as the club prepares for a three-day pre-season tour of Tanzania this weekend.
SC Villa leave for the tour on Wednesday where they play matches against Yanga FC in Dar es Salam. The trip is expected to be current head coach Ibrahim Kirya’s only international trip before Spanish Antonio Flores takes over mid next month.
Flores, who was at Villa Park last March will come with his assistants but Kirya will be retained as the only local tactician.
“We want Kirya to learn from him (Flores). We think those foreign coaches have European coaching licenses and that makes them better coaches in terms of tactics,” Misagga explained.
Players, who have been released, include captain Isaac Kirabira, John Kalumba, Samson Jakech, Moses Gale, Chrizestom Ntambi, Derrick Walulya, Steven Bengo, Andrew Kaggwa, Musa Doca, Isaac Kiwewa and Joseph Kayira.
The club has already recruited Umar Kasumba (Police), Robert Achema (BUL), Abel Eturude(Maroons), Jonathan Luwanga, Henry Katongole (Express) and Asadu Bugembe (Kira Young) and expecting more players to join them.
During their Uganda Cup victory party at Villa Park on Saturday, Misagga suspended his executive committee until after recruitment of players and coaches at the beginning of the 2015/2016 football season.
Eight members of the executive save for director of finance Moses Musasizi, executive secretary Fred Turyatemba and second vice general duties Mohammed Nsereko have been suspended to cut down what Misagga called club expenditure.
"I don't want the executive committee to interfere with players' recruitment. Some of the executive members have been tipping players we target for recruitment making negotiations difficult and even more expensive. So I have defused the executive for the entire period of recruitment," Misagga said.
Vice president in charge of administration Mohammed Bazirengedde, third vice president in charge of planning Mohammed Jumba and legal advisor Kiyimba Mutale are among executive committee members suspended.
Others are Bashir Sebankyaaye (welfare), Debora Ssembayta (women affairs), executive members Hajj Ali, Sellezous Katongole and Robert Nkwasibwe.
